How many of you have purchased something as an adult that was reminiscent of your childhood? Too many times I have. My favorite sneakers I wear ALL the time are one of those nostalgic purchases.
Backstory: As a child my mom refused to buy my sisters and I Converse. My mom was forced to wear them as a child growing up and did not want to buy them for us. Weird? I know… We still laugh about it! When I was entering into 4th grade my grandmother took me and my sisters school clothes shopping. I picked out a pair of Black velvet platform sneakers that in my mind resembled Converse. You couldn’t tell me anything with those shoes. In my mind they were just like Converse but better because they were velvet and made me taller. I thought I was the coolest girl at the school.
Fast forward some decades and I come across Supergas. As soon as I saw them, I was reminded of those Black Velvet platform sneakers. I was thrilled and had to have them.

lol I remember this shopping trip she’d never buy converse. After my first paycheck and went and bought me some chucks 😂
